 Pair of 17th Century hand-colored copper engravings by Basilius Besler Published in  "Hortus Eystettensis" (Garden at Eichstätt) by Basilius Besler, c. 1613.  Oned Depicts three types of Carnations: Caryophyllus simplex borten sisversi color, Caryophyllus plenus miniato colore, and Caryophyllus purpureus flore multiplici laciniato The second depicts "Colchicum," shown in six various species, named and numbered I-VI, from "Hortus Eystettensis,"  Image size of both : Height: 19 in; Width: 15.5 in.  Frame: 26 ¾” h. x 23 7/8” w.
