Cast iron Garden Bench / Settee, cast in four sections, entirely of intertwined oak branches with acorns and leaves, raised on conforming trunk legs joined by entwined serpents. Retains an old black-painted surface. Probably Janes, Beebe & Co., New York City, NY. Mid 19th century. A similar example, attrib. to Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond, VA, is in the collection of the Valentine Museum. 32" H. x 51" W x 19 ¾” d, 17 1/2" SH.
